’bout me

Howdy !!

My name’s Sebastian. I live in Moscow, Russia.  I have spent the biggest part of my life in Paris, but also in Poland and even in Africa and I moved to Russia in 2004.

I was hooked by photo since I was 15.  I bought my first camera, a Russian Zenit, in a market in Poland in the 90′ and I used to take pictures of architecture, portraits, and landscapes.

Apart from photo, I’m fond of travelling, meeting people, art (mostly painting and media art),  speleology, archeology and motorbikes.  I like combining the three last  things during the hot summertime in the unfathomable Russian countryside,  riding on my bike, exploring caves, looking for historical artefacts.

I used my photos for exhibitions, books and various articles.  As all photos are digital now, it makes more sense to share them on the web. However,  photos by themselves are not enough,  they need a story around. That’s why I started this blog made up of reports on countries or regions, and another part, more personal, on random thoughts on Russia.

    Hi Sebastian,

This is Shivanii, the british girl from our ESF class 3 in Val Thorens last week. I hear you had 10cm of snow on saturday? Hope the weather has returned to sunshine and you and Maria are another week of lessons?

What a great blog! I very jealous of all the wonderful places you have been.

Looking forward to your report of Val Thorens!

    Warmest regards,

    Shivanii
